Service Writer/Advisor

Maintains accurate records relative to the service department’s operation within the dealership. Assure that all charges related to Repair Orders are posted properly. Assure all Repair Orders are closed on a timely basis. Responsible for in-store customer service and overall organizational promotion. In addition, may perform selling, receiving and delivery of parts and accessories. 


  • Open Repair Orders and maintain control until closed and invoiced.

  • Handles Repair Order charges, warranty validation & claims coverage’s including charges, submission and follow-up.

  • Handles service department filing and records.

  • Maintains customer contact.

  • Promotes and sells products and/or services to meet customer needs.

  • Supplies Service Technicians with parts as required.

  • Prefer 1-year experience in the marine industry.

  • Completes other duties as assigned.

  • Must be able to lift up to 60lbs.

  • Must have a driver’s license.

Customer Service:

  • Must have outgoing, friendly personality, superior communication & customer service skills.

  • Experience working in a service department is preferred, but NOT required.

  • Ability to write and work on routine reports and correspondence.

  • Ability to resolve customer concerns.

  • Must be a self-motivated problem solver.

  • Good computer skills.

  • Good organizational ability.

  • General understanding of mechanical/technical terms.

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $15.00 to $20.00 /hour
